An old flame returns.

I used to knit, and then I stopped, and then I started again. I started knitting again because I wanted to knit Hazel some wool pants. Not only are they cute but by some woolly magic they make a great cover for cloth diapers. (Yes I am doing cloth again).
Here is what I have done in the last couple of months.

Short sleeve tunic for Hazie

Action shot!

Wool pants (these are called longies is cloth diapering jargon)

Loving her toes.

I dyed my own wool with Kool-Aid.

The result. I am not sure what I am going to make with it yet.

And now that I have refound the love I have about a billion things I want to knit.

Wow! I love knitting too, but I've never dyed my own wool. You are a super-star!

I love it when you knit! Totally gorgeous color! How do you set the dye in the cool-aid yarn?

LOVE the things you made! Wow! So impressive. You could make and sell, on an etsy shop or something. Or Hazel can just be the warmest, best dressed baby in town, that would work too. : )

You did a great job. All the projects are so cute. I crocheted some soakers for the baby but the knit patterns are so much cutie. I need you to come teach me how to knit again! I made some longies for Maeve and the baby out of old thrift store sweaters that I felted. They are so cute. Now if only this baby would arrive...

You are so CRAFTY... and I mean that in the good way, not the drumming-your-fingertips-together-while-you-ponder-the-downfall-of-mankind kind of way.

Bess - you are me new knitting idol! I love the tunic, well everything actually....
I'm on your blog looking for an old post about plumbing... we've got the plumbing blues and need a pick me up :)

Thanks for all the compliments!
Leslie: Apparently Kool-aid is acidic enough that it sets itself. I had three packets of color in the dye bath and it was clear when I pulled the wool out. I only rinsed the yarn twice before it ran clear.

Kiera, I would have to charge a million dollars to make selling hand knit stuff worth it. I am pretty slow still.

Cindy, get that baby out. Go to Knittinghelp.com and join Ravelry.com. Tonnes of helpful stuff. You will be a knitting pro in no time.

Heather, the plumbing post is our very first post I think. http://donuteaters.blogspot.com/search?updated-min=2005-01-01T00%3A00%3A00-07%3A00&updated-max=2006-01-01T00%3A00%3A00-07%3A00&max-results=7

Bess-
these look amazing! I have been making wool covers for Simon out of old wool sweaters but yours look so much nicer. I am drooling over your longies! I just don't have the time to knit and even if I did my knitting skills are not up to par. You are amazing!
