Whirlwind Christmas

The tree on Christmas morning. Keep in mind there were eleven of us.

Christmas promised to be chaotic this year since within the space of 4 days we had the arrival and departure of the majority of my family (my Mom and Dad, Jared and Miya, David and Sheena, and Granny), Christmas Eve festivities, Christmas Day activities, meeting a new future sister-in-law, 4 guests sleeping over, two trips to the airport, one trip to Temple Square, and one traditional/vegetarian Christmas meal.

It actually turned out to be not so stressful and a lot of fun, though I added to the potential chaos by arming all the men with dartguns on Christmas morning. All of our careful guidance to the kids about not pointing toy guns at people went out the window though.

It seemed to us like everyone had a good time. Sheena seemed to not be too intimidated by the Bauer insanity. Everyone got really good gifts. Mom and Dad made chopping blocks for everyone that were super cool and turned out really well. Bess gave all the women homemade aprons which were really cool and were graciously received. The kids got some great toys that they were very excited about, cars and dinosaurs for Henri, Books and art supplies for Harriett. And they both got a bunch of train tracks to add to our current railway system. Bess got a few cookbooks that she is really excited about and I ended up with a bunch of good stuff (mostly books and movies).

Henri waiting patiently for Grandma and Grandpa and Granny to arrive on Christmas morning.

David and Sheena. Aren't they adorable.

Jared and Miya. Miya is currently in the lead for favorite aunt.

Look closely, you can see the beautiful stuffed and sliced tofurkey.

Granny and Henri reading Wizard of Oz.

I am so sad I missed it! But, I'm happy everyone had the chance to be in the same place at the same time for once. P.S. The kids are getting HUGE!!!

We tried not to stare, but I think David got some sort of leg enhancement.

Hey Micah! Glad I came across your blog from the Rachel and Josh's. How are you long lost CID buddy? Congrats on the upcoming baby #3. Your other two are darling, so you should be resting easy at this point. I can't believe how many mutual friends we have and we haven't run into eachother yet! Maybe we'll remedy that this year.
